BASECAMP is a 3.5-day weekend experience for men. Over the weekend we take men on a deep dive into the wounds we have acquired throughout our lives, we all have them, and no one is exempt. We examine the roots of these wounds and how they have affected and shaped the men that we have become today for better or worse. More importantly, we begin to do the work of excavation on these spaces in our lives, magnify our view of God the Father, and step into his grace as his beloved wholehearted sons. To know where we need to go we have to understand where and what we have come from, at BASECAMP we examine all of this. The weekend is made up of multiple different development environments. Some large group lesson times that range from 15-20 minutes lesson think TEDtalk style session. Smaller group sessions (this is where the connection truly happens). This is a smaller group of 5-10 guys who share in group discussion what they are processing, taking away from the sessions, and open up about what wounds they are discovering and attempting to work on, this is where we go deeper into what we are wrestling with, and where we need help and brothers to walk with. There are also individual session times where we give you intentional time and space to think, write, walk, talk to the Father, and sort out the things you are thinking and feeling as the weekend progresses (the truth is many of us men at basecamp need time to process and don’t readily know what all we are thinking or feeling, that’s what this time is for.) Furthermore, there are other times throughout the weekend to simply enjoy community, food, and recreation from shooting clays, to basketball, to bonfires, disc golf, or just about anything you can dream up that isn’t illegal and doesn’t get us kicked out of the retreat center. Basecamp is simply a multi-day weekend retreat where we grow as men. Becoming more of the men God created us to be and to live the stories he created us to live. We build community, we build strength, and we build joy. We become better sons, fathers, husbands, and friends. We simply work to become wholehearted.
